Barilla G.& R. Fratelli is looking for a Technical Development Engineer for the meal solutions and bakery processes areas.

Job Purpose

To manage, projects of Medium/High complexity in the area of Meal Solutions and Bakery Processes within the guidelines and instructions given by the superior.

Manage in autonomy the technical tasks such as: technical preliminary analysis (feasibility analysis, bench tests, suppliers selection…), cost analysis, drafting of internal documents (RCA, RDA, orders etc…), technical specifications, collaboration with purchasing, installation and testing of the equipment.

Key Accountabilities

To scout new processes or new applications of existing technologies, also non-food, in order to give a pro – active contribution to the research plan.

• To contribute to the problem solving of specific technical issues occurring during the projects executions coming from RD&Q, Technical development or Plants.
• To ensure an accurate feasibility study for each request from the superior related to process innovation interacting with other units of RD&Q, Supply Chain, Plants and Marketing.
• Define the user requirements for the Medium/High complexity projects in collaboration with Product Research or Product Development.
• Ensure, in autonomy, the management of assigned projects, through the definition of sub-processes, relevant deadlines and priorities, assessing the progress of planned phases, coordinating internal staff and external resources, and manage the final phases (installation and testing) until the successful release of new lines/equipment is reached.
• To support the Purchasing dept. in the selection of the suppliers through the evaluation of the quotations and in the negotiation phase. In case of technical or technological constrains his/her preference drives the final choice.
• To ensure, for each competence area, the technological scouting and the possible application in the company.
• To ensure the compliance of the new equipment to the internal safety and environmental standards.
• To collaborate with the superior in the definition of the CAPEX for his/her area of competence.
• Ensure the professional growth of the people managed.
  

Key Requirements

MSc in Mechanical Engineering

Professional experience: minimum 3/4 years

Fluent both in Italian and English

Strong Communication skills

Project Management skills

Willing to travel in Italy abroad
