The Role
You would be a Senior Network Support Engineer and would be based out of our Aldershot Office. You would be responsible to design, implement and maintain the technical infrastructure supporting Engineering/Development/QA environments. This is a critical role in supporting product development and meeting key deliverables to our customers. The role will encompass the management of all networks and connectivity in support of distributed and offshore development, remote labs and R&D environments throughout SITA ATS organization.
Your Role will Involve:
Supporting our offices in Londongate, Royal Pavillion and offshore offices as well.
Managing R&D Service network for SITA.
Responsible for helping the clients to uncover their network issues.
Building, implementing and supporting network infrastructure systems and platforms in accordance with agreed standards, technical and functional requirements and specifications.
Participating in the development and implementation of trouble handling procedures to minimize impact of infrastructure outages and service impairments.
Provide detailed planning and engineering of technical solutions for availability, reliability and management of technical infrastructure within SITA ATS organization.
Monitor systems supporting lab infrastructure and development networks. Identify, recommend and implement improvements for network/system performance & reliability..
Designing, Implementing and managing network security mechanisms to prevent breaches in network and data systems.
Administering system backup & maintenance procedures to ensure availability and integrity of network.
Researching and analysing patches and upgrades to resolve problems and vulnerabilities
Providing and maintaining network diagrams and documentation always.
Recommending permanent solutions for recurring problems
Ensuring all risks and issues are raised and actioned appropriately
We would Like you to have:
- At least 3 years’ experience in network design, implementation and continued support for complex R&D environments, supporting network infrastructures and firewall management.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco (firewall, routers, switches etc)
- Experience with routing, switching and firewall management within CISCO network infrastructure. Catalyst, Nexus, ASA Firewall and Firepower
- Ability to troubleshoot networking issues within local & remote R&D environments.
- Service Desk, ITIL process areas – Incident, Change, Problem, Capacity, Asset Management
- VMware ESX administration a plus
- Network system Integration in support of product development and testing
- Pragmatic approach to problem management.
