QUALIFICATIONS

 

•           Bachelor's degree in related Engineering departments,

•           Minimum 10 years of experience across HSE applications,

•           Minimum 7 years of managerial experience in mining sector,

•           A-Class Occupational Safety certificate is essential,

•           A comprehensive knowledge of safety legislations and management system

•           Fluency in English is required,

•           Experience in working with a diverse workforce at all levels (including white/blue collar employees and international employees),

•           Key skills and abilities include leadership, customer orientation, coaching, influencing, facilitation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving,

•           Proven ability to make rational judgements and decisions, particularly in situations of high ambiguity,

•           Proven track record of leadership with demonstrated ability to develop talent,

•           Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines and multiple priorities; work under pressure and handle confidential information appropriately,

•           No military obligation for male candidates

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

•           Develop and implement a comprehensive safety management system ensuring working conditions meet appropriate Health & Safety standards, and technical plans to assure HSE compliance with national regulations and international standards,

•           Ensure the management of the necessary Health & Safety documentation for external agencies, firms, government bodies, etc…

•           Ensure danger identification and risk assessment,

•           Audit and monitor of general HSE compliance and performance in safety areas.

•           Promote a positive culture around safety and ensures that HSE processes are innovative and creative.

•           Continuously monitor the system for improvement opportunities

•           Ensure all on-site and external employees are trained on and meeting the safety qualifications and guidelines

•           Manage the performance and adherence to expectations of on-site employees

•           Participate in Occupational Health and Safety Board meetings, to inform the board about the health and safety status of the workplace and give recommendations,

•           Work in cooperation with Workplace Health Unit, evaluating the health and safety situation of the workplace, accident and occupational diseases in the workplace with the workplace physician and making preventive action plans according to the results of evaluation,

•           Collaborate relevant departments to implement recommendations and controls to address unsafe behavior,

•           Participate internal HS audits, preparing the action plans related with the findings and carry out and follow the corrective actions.
