These can be based in either the AbbVie UK office or AbbVie offices in any other European, Middle East or Africa affiliates.

Objective

The Senior Manager, Contract Management provides line management, leadership and strategic input to support the Contract Management Specialist (CMS) function, thus facilitating the effective planning and execution of Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Clinical Study Agreements (CSAs), associated budgets, vendor agreements and the legal sections of the Informed Consents.

Highlighted Responsibilities Include
  • Manage assigned CMSs to perform their responsibilities per job description and to the standard expected. Ensure consistency and adherence to global policies across CMS team.
  • Work with Associate Director, Contract Management (ADCM) to support the implementation of the prioritisation framework/operating model for the CMS team, and manage delivery of commitments from assigned CMSs
  • With ADCM and in partnership with key stakeholders across Affiliate, Legal, Finance and Budgets and Payments teams, identify the need for and support the implementation of streamlined processes, Contract Management tools, templates and systems
  • With ADCM, actively monitor the timeliness of CDA/CSA delivery to ensure they are off the critical path for study start-up.
  • Support the development and implementation of performance measurement strategies and ensure assigned CMSs complete tools to capture the information in a timely and accurate way.
  • Facilitate the maintenance of appropriate staffing levels for the function. Train and develop assigned staff. Deputise for ADCM when necessary
  • Drive continuous improvement in team performance and areas of responsibility

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a Health Care, legal or scientific discipline.
  • High level of awareness and understanding of clinical operations and drug development.
  • Awareness and understanding of legal, compliance and regulatory matters in clinical research.
  • Experience in cross-divisional / cross-functional interactions and working within a global environment an advantage.
  • Demonstrated effective line or matrix management skills.
  • Proactive and positive team player. Able to maintain high performance during times of ambiguity and changes in the work environment
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally
