If so then this could be the role for you. We currently have a number of opportunities available for individuals to join our Correctional Officer training, commencing in January 2020. In this training you will commence a Certificate III in Correctional Practice and learn the necessary skills to commence working as a Correctional Officer at Parklea Correctional Centre. As a Correctional Officer, you will ensure the safety and security of people and help deliver services that enable Inmates to improve their lives and reintegrate successfully into our communities upon release. You will be set up for success with all the professional training required to fully undertake this role should you wish to pursue this exciting opportunity.

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic computer skills or an ability to learn
  • Strong literacy and numeracy
  • A reasonable level of fitness to undertake the job which will include a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol test
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an AFP check
  • The ability to work on a rotating 24 hr roster incliuding Day, Afternoon and Night shift
  • Be able to commence training in January 2020

Please note you must be available to attend the entire 9 weeks of the pre-service training course and holidays during the first 6 months of employment will be limited.
