About The Job

Neighbourhood Services are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and
passionate professional to support the Ward Community Engagement team.
Working closely with city wide partners and communities, and
collaboratively with other LCC departments, you will provide high quality
support to Councillors in their community role at city, area and ward
level.
You will be required to support, advise and guide Ward Councillors with
organising, publicising and developing ward community meetings and solving
complex problems and issues. You will also ensure that the ward community
budget funding applications are appropriately processed and approved, and
records are accurate and up to date.
Requirements of the post
Significant experience of working in a community setting e.g. Voluntary
Sector, Community Forums/groups and residents associations.
Experience of working collaboratively with partner organisations, i.e. the
Police and Health.
Experience of negotiating with and dealing effectively with
officers/colleagues at all levels in a large organisation and with external
organisations / partners.
Experience of conflict resolution and negotiation in a political and
community environment.
Substantial experience of working closely and effectively with elected
members in a community environment.
Solid understanding of the different aspects of the organisation including
building and managing relationships with appropriate services.
Additional information
This is a nine month fixed term opportunity.
Part-time 18.5 hours per week. The salary for this post is £13,952 -
£15,253 per annum.
