Your Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, Asian OEM Platform, you will be responsible for ensuring the portfolio of the assigned dealerships (14 dealerships across Canada), meets the targets and goals set out in the annual operating plan ultimately managing the efficient and profitable operation of the service, parts, and detail departments driving the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promoting high-quality customer satisfaction. As the Platform Fixed Operations Director, you will be the additional mind, eyes, and ears, as well as the subject matter expert providing guidance to the Platform Vice President, Fixed Operations Managers, Service Managers, Dealer Principals/General Managers and Controllers in running their fixed operations departments.

Travel to dealerships across Canada up to 70% of the time is a requirement of the role.

Operational Accountability
- Oversee, maintain and enhance the service and parts operations departments of the portfolio of assigned dealerships.
- Prepare and administer annual forecasts and operating budget for the service and parts departments and assist the stores in creating plans to enable execution of goals.
- Conduct regular review of data and progress reports for the service and parts departments to ensure dealerships are on track to meet performance goals and objectives.
- Work with leaders to create and implement corrective action plans for dealerships not meeting goals and objectives.
- Attend manager's meetings and holding regular larger group meetings to align platform goals and meet expectations.
- Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures for all brands within the assigned portfolio.
- Work with the dealerships to maintain high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks.
- Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Assist the stores in achieving the highest possible customer satisfaction scores to maximize OEM program incentives.
- Understand warranty claims, warranty policy adjustments, and warranty guidelines. Ensure correct processing of claims and communicate warranty information and clarifications to store leaders to maximize OEM reimbursements.
- Act as the primary point of contact with DealerMine and hold the vendor accountable to the service level agreements in the contract.
- Meet with OEM representatives and other vendors as required.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Understand the financial performance of each dealership in the portfolio and address any operational concerns that could impact the business.
- Assist in developing annual operating budgets and forecasts for fixed operations departments for each dealership (revenue and expense forecasting).
- Provide leadership and guidance to assist in effectively manage costs to improve efficiency.
- Coach, mentor and motivate the fixed operations leadership team to ensure that performance metrics and operational goals are achieved.
- Support professional associate development and coordinate with department managers to determine the need for advanced training.
- Utilize performance metrics in all operational departments to enhance operational success and hold associates accountable.
- Celebrate team successes and cultivate a positive culture of excellence.
- Work in partnership with the OEM to achieve common goals.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a relevant four-year college or university program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years of cumulative related experience and/or training; in parts, service, technical positions in the automotive sector.
- 5 years of formal management/leadership experience in a related industry.
- 5 years of progressive experience in a role being formally accountable for the profit and loss of a sizable, industry-related operational department.
- Must have previous experience being a leader and in building and mentoring a successful team. Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team development, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
- Strong understanding of dealership operational practices, budgeting and expense management.
- Must have an expert understanding of service and parts operations.
- Excellent verbal/written communication combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision-makers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage priorities, perform a variety of tasks and meet required deadlines and targets.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and resourceful.
- Results-driven and career-focused individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be successful.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Highly skilled in standard office software (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.).
- Experience with service applications with ADP, CDK and/or Reynolds and Reynolds.
- Must have a proven ability to be professional and deliver exceptional service to clients.
- Must have a track record for motivating and engaging team members and stakeholders.
- Understanding of provincial safety code requirements for dealerships in the assigned portfolio.
- Valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving.
