Project and Business Analyst

The Project & Business Analyst will provide business analysis, quality assurance, and support services. They will work closely with all departments to provide their expertise and analysis as required to support all IT systems for the bank.


MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE

 

·         Provides project coordination and analysis services for IT application development and business projects for the bank’s core systems.

·         Provides technical, business system, and process specific support for line of business applications.

·         Assists with evaluating and prioritizing enhancement requests and software defects for future releases.

·         Acts as a project analyst for technical and system initiatives.

·         Maintains process controls throughout the software development life cycle from business requirements to implementation.

·         Develops functional specifications and user interfaces for enhancements and feature requests.

·         Creates test plans and scenarios and tests all new features and bug fixes.

·         Coordinates user acceptance testing and obtains user signoff as required.

·         Liaises between users and the development team to track reported defects and ensures adequate information has been obtained to fully document defect and enhancement requests.

·         Responds to ad hoc query requests from users to ensure that data and analysis is provided in a timely manner.

·         Maintains knowledge of new products and technologies in the areas of application development, reporting, and testing.

 


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

·         Post-secondary education or a technology-related diploma.

·         3 + proven experience in eliciting requirements, creating, analyzing, and validating detailed functional specifications, and testing.

·         Ability to work with internal clients at all levels.

·         Ability to present moderately complex concepts in an easy to understand manner.

·         Superior verbal and written communication skills.

·         Strong organizational and planning skills.

·         Familiarity with project management techniques.

·         Experience in user-interface design.

·         Understanding of financial and accounting concepts including mortgages, simple interest, compound interest, property appraisals, credit analysis, GICs, and mortgage products.

·         Knowledgeable of Microsoft products including MS Project, MS Visio, MS SharePoint, MS Office, and other applications as required by different projects.

·         Familiarity with database concepts and experience writing SQL queries to retrieve information from relational databases would be considered an asset.
