SQL Developer

Seeking a SQL Developer who is detailed-oriented, passionate, and understands financial systems. The SQL Developer will work directly with business leaders to architect and build solutions that solve real problems. Candidates should have experience in developing Microsoft Power BI-based dashboards and reports, including administering SSAS tabular models and SSIS ETL packages to meet end-user requests.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the SQL Developer include

• Gather and translate business requirements into report designs with a focus on finance
• Design and monitor construction of user-facing presentation tools, such as (SSRS) and Tableau
• Generate ad-hoc reports as needed

• Automation of pricing/costing/gross margin market analysis
• Design and build robust data structures to support end user analysis and decision making.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports, implement complex hierarchical row level security, and publish reports to Power BI server.
• Design and implement calculations, perspectives, hierarchy structures, score cards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with outstanding visualizations using DAX and T-SQL.
• Work with business leaders to understand requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into an effective technical solution.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products.
• Monitor data warehouse infrastructure and business intelligence scheduled processes and identify opportunities to make enhancements.
• Actively participate in work group/team activities as an enthusiastic, positive, and dependable team member.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Desired Skills & Experience

 

Minimum Requirements

• 2-3 years’ experience.
• Proficient with T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge and experience with SSIS, SSRS and Tableau
• Accounting procedures and financial reporting practice

• Perform capacity planning for supported databases.
• Provide guidance regarding industry best practices and the effective use of database environments.
• Perform a variety of hands-on database technical work.
• Research technological advancement in database management software, methodology, quality assurance and related matters, as potential components of feasible solutions or enhancements to existing system

Preferred Competency Requirements

• Expert knowledge and experience with Power BI, SSAS tabular models, SSIS, SSRS and SSMS.
• Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
