Job Summary

The Munitions Operations Technician performs all munitions accountability, inventory actions to include historical records in accordance with AFI 21-201 and 11A-1-10 and other applicable tech data. Operates Combat Ammunition System (CAS). Carries out all duties in accordance with DynCorp International ISO 9001 Quality and Safety Standards.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Consistently observes and enforces all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards during all explosives and non-explosives operations in assigned sites and temporary duty locations.
  • In the event of an emergency, takes necessary control and directs timely response actions.
  • Uses CAS to the maximum extent possible and reports system discrepancies as required.
  • Assists the personnel in the training and use of CAS.
  • Checks the daily connectivity to CAS and takes appropriate action to correct problems.
  • Conducts all munitions work according to established quality processes, identifies potential problems and recommends root-cause solutions.
  • Completes all accountability and historical documentation actions in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with department personnel to resolve any serviceability and accountability issues noted during the inspection processes; informs the Superintendent of all problems.
  • Advises expeditiously the Munitions Superintendent/Munitions Operations Supervisor of any potential problems.
  • Processing and completes accountable/auditable documents in a timely manner.
  • Conducts warehouse inventories and advises the Superintendent about any discrepancies.
  • Works with the ADR process to ensure appropriate actions are taken on all assets.
  • Reconciles the ADR file against CAS records monthly to ensure documentation accurately reflects CAS information; informs the senior person about any problems.
  • Assists in developing the master inspection schedule and in monitoring shelf and service life to ensure disposition actions are initiated for all affected assets.
  • Develops the monthly periodic inspection schedule from the master inspection.
  • Follows-up on components required for munitions TCTO’s and follows up as required.
  • Scrutinizes the AWM and AWP actions affecting the serviceability of the stockpile.
  • Follows-up on munitions shipments using the Integrated Data Environment (IDE) Global Transportation Network (GTN) Convergence (IGC) and tracks departure status.
  • Works necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Munitions Superintendent/Munitions Operations Supervisor.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of the USAF Supply and Tech Order systems.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Normal color perception and depth of vision.
  • No record of emotional instability.
  • A valid US, UK, Qatar or Oman driver's license.

Experience & Education
  • Minimum four years experience on Military Munitions; especially with USAF CAS accountability and document control processes and procedures; enhanced with combined experience on inspection procedures, storage, and maintenance of munitions.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties.

Travel /Other
  • US Secret Security Clearance required.
