The prestige of the Granite Club can be traced back to 1875, when a half-dozen gentlemen organized an ‘uptown' curling facility at Chapel Street and St. Mary's Street, offering a small Clubhouse, a covered outdoor two-sheet curling rink and a skating rink. Despite the ruggedness of the facility, the Club's charter Members reveled in the camaraderie of the sport. During these first years, several prominent Canadians became Members, including Mayor W.B. McMurrich, Sir Edmund Osler and J.D. Edgar, Speaker of the House of Commons. Sir John A. Macdonald was the Club's first honorary patron. The Club quickly expanded and moved twice to progressively larger Clubhouses - first on Church Street and then on St. Clair Avenue near Yonge Street - each with facilities considered the finest in the country. Now in its fourth home bordering the beautiful Don Valley on Bayview Avenue, the Club is host to many additional - and ever-evolving - sport and recreation facilities, and offers hundreds of programs and events for its many Members, staying true to its roots in striking a fine balance between excellence in athletics and an emphasis on camaraderie.

Servers at the Granite Club are responsible for creating incredible dining experiences for the Granite Club’s Members and their guests. If you are a positive, professional, team oriented person with a passion for Food & Beverage, join the Club!

Primary Responsibilities

• Create a positive and memorable dining experience
• Learn and be knowledgeable of all food and beverage items
• Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other Club functions and services.
• Ensure accuracy when entering information into the POS system.
• Able to successfully solve problems through decision making.
• Monitor cleanliness of section and ensure it is presentable before, during and after service.
• Actively demonstrate teamwork, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy.

Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM. * Smart Serve Certification required * Minimum Grade 12 education and 2 years related work experience * Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal) * Food, wine, beer and cocktail knowledge is required * Excellent Communication and Social Skills. * Respectful, professional, personable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn * Detail oriented with ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast paced environment
