Human Resources Assistant

This is a 6-month full-time temporary position with possibility of extension.


The Human Resources Assistant will at various times be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the Company:


1. Providing recruitment and onboarding support through activities such as:

  • Preparing offers of employment and monitoring and following up on offer acceptance.
  • Sending onboarding documents to employees.
  • Screening resumes and conducting phone and in-person interviews
  • Creating and revising job postings

  

2. Conducting administrative human resources tasks to maintain employee records like:

  • Organizing, auditing and scanning new employee files.
  • Following up with employees and managers to ensure proper documentation.
  • Preparing employee change letters for managers in the designated region.
  • Preparing messages for new staff appointments and departures.


To be successful in the Human Resources Assistant position, an individual must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:


Education and Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in a related program such as Human Resources, Commerce, or Psychology
  • Minimum one year of related experience in an office or customer service setting
  • Knowledge of employment standards and human rights legislation
  • Human Resources experience strongly preferred

 

Competencies:

  • Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Bilingual (English / French) required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability
  • Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion; maintaining confidentiality of files, personal information, and other matters, as appropriate
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail
  • A positive attitude and customer focused approach
