  • Role Purpose:

    To develop, manage, implement and support the IT infrastructure, IT operations, information security and business continuity in order to ensure efficient, reliable and secure communication and information within the set IT department’s policies and procedures and encounter professional standards.

    Key Accountabilities:

    1. Daily Operations
    • Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the IT Operations section to ensure compliance with the established standards, and policy and procedures;
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices employing the international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement;
    • Prepare reports of the IT Operations section in timely and accurately manner to meet GMCo and department requirements, policies and standards.
    1. Infrastructure Management
    • Develop, support and manage the IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and operating systems to ensure providing comprehensive services that meet business requirements;
    • Monitor the database administration, maintenance, performance and integrity to ensure data is clearly defined, consistent and accessible by users;
    • Communicate, interact with and obtain from IT Planning and Development and IT Services regarding observations and problems of new solutions run in the test environment before running on the production environment to ensure proper functioning of the system.
    1. Information Security
    • Implement the defined security program, to solve actual and potential security problems to ensure safeguarding information system assets;
    • Determine, investigate and address security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits to ensure protection of the information and compliance with the set policies and procedures.
    1. Direction of Subordinates
    • Organize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the IT Operations activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner;
    • Provide formal and informal feedback to subordinates in order to ensure their continuous development.
    1. Policies, Processes and Procedures
    • Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to subordinates/team members and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
    1. Safety, Quality and Environment
    • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge

    • Managing Budget: The experience and knowledge to prepare, review and implement annual budgets, cash flows and forecasts as well as approve and manage expenses against budget.
    • Performance Analysis, Measurement & MIS Reporting: The knowledge and experience to complete corporate objectives, develop critical success factors and performance measurement parameters (specific for GMCo) and analyse budget reports and variance analysis. It also includes completing summary reports on corporate and management metrics.
    • System Configuration: The knowledge and ability to develop, update and monitor policies and procedures for IT configuration management (i.e. IT product's performance, functional and physical attributes) and document control. It includes the experience required to coordinate the documentation process of testing procedures.
    • Architecture Development: The knowledge and applied skills to define and design specification, development and implementation of systems architecture as per business requirements and ensure the IT strategy is aligned with the strategic objectives of GMCo.
    • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or any other related field with preferably a Cisco advanced certification;
    • 6 - 10 years relevant experience in IT including at least 2 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
