Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Senior Public Relations Specialist contributes to building a strong global brand for Equisoft and its subsidiaries, by enhancing the company’s voice and presence through online and offline channels and maintaining a positive public image with its target audiences.

The position requires experience in the field of strategic communications, ability to build strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders, excellent writing capabilities, business and financial literacy and an ability to quickly grasp complexity.

A DAY IN YOUR LIFE

• Develop and manage the annual global PR plan and budget in support of the company’s brand, growth and engagement objectives
• Manage the day-to-day PR efforts including messaging, press materials (releases, pitches, briefing, etc.), media relations (proactive pitching, reactive handling and issue management), awards and speaking program
• Develop briefing and messaging documents for media and analyst interviews, trade shows and events
• Build and maintain a comprehensive database of target media outlets, media contacts and industry influencers across regions
• Develop strategic partnerships with the media; identify and develop new relationships with editors, reporters and bloggers
• Build unique stories and programs that spotlight Equisoft’s products and brand
• Proactively seek and coordinate media interviews for Equisoft’s top executives and subject matter experts; leverage selected media coverage on social media
• Draft or oversee the copywriting of press releases, authored articles, advertorials, corporate speeches, media kits, Q&As, media communication templates and other materials to support PR activities.
• Develop internal policies related to media relations (crisis management, social media, etc.).
• Analyze the success of the global PR effort by demonstrating effective measurement of activities (ROI analysis); prepare PR dashboards and reports; research and track media coverage and industry trends.
• Select and manage vendors as needed including local PR agencies in Latam and Asia, copywriters, translators, and other contractors

MUST-HAVES

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or relevant field, and over 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a B2B, high-technology or financial environment
• Proven track record building relationships with media contacts both domestic and internationally; established networks of media contacts in the insurance or wealth management industry an important asset
• Experience in developing persuasive communications as well as executive communications for a variety of audiences (internal/external)
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English and French; ability to package information into simple and compelling content; attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, diplomatic, collaborative, ability to influence and work cross-functionally; solid judgment in complex situations
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines; exhibit flexibility and adaptability to change
• Proven track record with digital and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
• Working knowledge of MS Office

 

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Experience with Cision Communication Cloud portal, Asana and SharePoint
• Knowledge of Spanish
