Responsibilities:

As Data Engineer, you will develop fast, accurate, robust and scalable data-processing pipelines required for optimal extraction from different source systems, transformation according to business needs, and reporting for business. You will understand and work with a wide variety of State-of-the-art Alibaba E-Commerce systems and fulfill business needs for a variety of stakeholders.

You will use HiveQL, Python and ETL methodologies to work on Alibaba big data cloud platform to build and maintain optimal data architecture.

You will work in an agile environment within the BI team comprising of extremely talented young people and will need to solve complex data problems on day to day basis. 

Requirements:

• A good understanding of database architecture and querying using SQL/HiveQL, with a minimum 1 year’s post-university experience

• A sound understanding of data transformation and cleaning.

• Programming experience using any language such as Python, Java, C# etc.

• Enthusiasm for innovation with a proven track record of researching and identifying optimum tools and methods for solving complex data problems.

• Ability to quickly understand business requirements and transform them into data models.

Eligibility Criteria/Qualification:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.

• At least 1-4 years industry experience in similar role.

Competencies/Functional/Behavioral skill-set:

• SQL/HiveQL

• Python

• ETL

• Problem Solving

• Willingness to work in an agile environment

• Traditional Data Warehouse Architecture Understanding

• Hadoop knowledge will be a good plus

• Experience on a big data cloud computing platform such as GCP, AWS will be a good plus.
