Company Name: Citrix
Location: England
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Manager to both form and lead a Solutions Performance test team at our Cambridge office, responsible for driving the overall direction and technical approach around building performance and scalability into microservice-based solutions. We’re redefining and improving how millions of end users work, and enabling those users to be more productive, every day, wherever they work from and on whatever device.
About the Job:
As the head of a newly formed Solutions Performance team you will be responsible for ensuring the very latest Citrix technology platform is highly responsive, and scalable. The role will offer the opportunity to work with a large global team of engineers, helping to set high standards for architectural decision making, implementing automated CI/CD pipeline testing, and reporting on our live performance metrics to upper management across the organisation. This is a great green-field opportunity to build a new team, with a critical role to play within the business.
What you will be doing in this role:
- Facilitating the design and implementation of both a structured testing architecture and test strategy, ensuring our products meet the demands of our customers from a performance and scale perspective, with significant input in the underlying technology and architectural stack.
- Recommending and implementing both web and mobile performance test tooling to ensure our products are meeting their business requirements.
- Regularly liaise with key business stakeholders from across the engineering organisation representing the performance testing domain along with providing key indicators of progress.
- Enabling the design of suitable testing and performance data monitoring across the entire Citrix product portfolio.
- Gathering, publishing and governing performance and scale benchmarking data across the entire Citrix solution stack.
- Opportunity to work with some of the latest cloud technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Spinnaker etc. – and the opportunity to define which brand new technologies we use.
What we're looking for:
- An experienced people manager with a keen interest of both researching and implementing the best of breed technology and tooling from across the industry.
- Significant prior experience of software systems operating at scale, and tracking/maintaining performance within the system.
- A people person, with an avid interest around not only personal career development but also that of the wider team. Solid mentoring experience of less experienced staff is a plus.
- University Degree, or relevant industry experience – we don’t mind either.
- Exposure to Microservice Based Architectures, and experience of web/cloud/SaaS platform development.
- Experience of driving performance and scale test strategy in a web and/or cloud level environment.
- Significant experience of related tooling for performance and scale/load testing.
- Exposure to CI/CD deployments, and associated infrastructure/toolsets: Jenkins, Artifactory, Kubernetes, Docker, Spinnaker etc.
- A genuine passion for the subject matter and a willingness to try new things to solve new problems
