Senior Network Automation Specialist
In this role you will be closely working with your other expert network colleague based in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. Your main goal is to be responsible for designing the transformation of the overall network towards a standard of automation. Whilst doing so, you will also be responsible for the design, setup, maintenance and support of the global Irdeto network infrastructure. On a daily basis, you will need to work proactively, intelligently and according to best practice to offer enterprise services to our business.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Design and implement - ultimately drive - the automation of our networking system.
  • Manage Irdeto’s Global IT networking services (routers, switches, Firewalls, wireless infrastructure, enterprise voice) including designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting the systems as required.
  • Interface, monitor, and report on networking functions.
  • Initiate, manage and successfully complete projects improving the current IT networking services as necessary ensuring systems operate according to best practices and meet the business needs.
  • Review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Installation and upgrades of new networking products for all of our local and remote office regions and providing on-going support of these systems after implementation.
  • Develop documentation and reports pertaining to networking infrastructure.
  • Perform daily network maintenance, monitoring, log and system file generation.
  • Periodically perform project work in place of or in addition to the on-going operational tasks.  
  • Perform other technical responsibilities such as ‘backup’ to another individual who has primary responsibility for that platform/system/task. Adequate knowledge of the platform/system/task must be acquired and kept current so the backup role can be performed at any time.
  • Provide proactive knowledge transfer to other IT colleagues on an on-going, ad-hoc basis; additionally, structured knowledge transfer as a result of training or specialist knowledge will periodically be required.
  • Prepare and maintain clear (English) documentation describing key processes and activities of this role.
  • Some travel (+- 10%) to our various offices globally may be required.
 
Knowledge & Skill requirements:
  • Academic degree from an accredited university/college.
  • At least 7 years’ working experience in IT; at least 4 years in a similar position (in a global enterprise).
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, implementation and support of networking, security and related products in a global fast paced environment.
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in Cisco networking and Security technologies.
  • You bring solid network automation skills and are comfortable in programming with Python and/or Ansible.
  • CCNA certification required, CCNP certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco Firewall platforms (ASA, Firepower Threat Defense).
  • Experience with Cisco Anyconnect VPN and posture is desirable.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE and DOT1x. PxGrid experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience in network routing (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP), switching, TCP/IP and troubleshooting, packet capture and analysis.
  • Strong experience in configuring and managing Enterprise Wireless networking environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Comfotable with conducting research into new technology, products, and issues.
  • Experience with implementing PKI components in a network infrastructure.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Solid team player.
